P. Diddy gets Diamond Crusted Ipod
P. Diddy picked up a custom made, Diamond encrusted Ipod at the MTV music Awards. Is it just me or does that make you nauseous? The guy is a Millionaire who recently had to be sued by his son’s mother to pay more child support to his kid becuase he was paying a paltry amount. Basically he was spending more money on one of his cars then on how much he gave to his son each year. In other words he is loaded. So They really needed to give him a diamond ipod? I understand its publicity and all, but how about doing something more thoughtful like giving out a bunch of ipods to some underprivilaged kids and atleast making some publicity of that?
It pisses me off when companies invite celebrities to "launch parties" where the celebraties get an expensive piece of tech for free - before all us "regular" folk are even able to purchase one. The recent Motorola A630 party in New York, and the Sidekick II party in L.A. are prime examples of that. These people are so rich as it is, you need to give them expensive stuff for free? I just don’t understand this system. When I see a picture of Lindsey Lohan holding one of the 6 Sidekicks she took home for free from that party, all I think is "Damn that’s just irritating". Especially when I can’t even buy one yet! Ofcourse my anger stems from jealousy, but really what exactly makes them better then us?
So here’s my question… does seeing a celebrity with a piece of tech really influence you to buy it?
