Ever since nokia announced the nokia 6260 back in june I’ve been dreaming about it. It finally seemed like they made my dream fone - a flip fone with speakerphone, the symbian series os, mp3 player, bluetooth, etc. I couldn’t wait all these months for the 6260! They finally released it and the reviews are dissappointing. Reviewers have complained that the overall quality of the device’s construction is quite cheap and that it is extremely large. Infosyncworld gave it a 5.6 out of a 10. My heart is broken.
So I got the Sidekick II, it’s pretty cool. Really I could’ve lived with the Sidekick I. The improvements aren’t that significant. I’ve always had good RF reception with the original one, and the battery life didn’t bother me, nor did the lack of a built-in camera. Is it worth getting? If you’re going to use the SKII as a phone as well then it’s definately worth it for it’s Speakerphone feature. I have a separate phone for my voice calls - a Nokia 6230, so I’m never going to end up using the speakerphone feature. Well anyway hopefully it’ll hold me over till I can get a XDA III. Rumor is that Cingular will be selling XDA III’s/Siemens SX66 and supposedly it’ll be significantly cheaper then Expansys’s price of $899. If you are willing to shell out that much cash for it now, Expansys just got them in stock today. From the few user reviews I’ve found everyone seems to love the XDA III (AKA MDA III, AKA PDA2K, AKA Siemens SX66) and it seems to be way superior to the HP 6315.
