So you finally buy yourself the spiffy new laptop you’ve been eyeing. You’re full of pride for your new best friend and are probably busy admiring it’s design – maybe you even bought that specific model solely because of its good looks. For me the design of the laptop is just as important as its specs and I imagine many think the same way when looking for a laptop. But here’s where things go wrong – you go to your local comp store to get a laptop bag and their all super nasty and overly masculine looking. What’s a girl to do? It really feels like most stores forget that women buy laptops as well. So most of us end up buying that black ugly thing which we’d otherwise never be caught dead with if it didn’t have a laptop in it. Anyway, I decided it’s about time I looked around for cases with femininity. Surprisingly enough I found a decent amount out there, and here they are:

First off, Targus   has a new line of cases designed specially for women. They have 7 deisgns to choose from. But i must say the prices are pretty outrageous. $149 being the price for an average bag.

Samsonite also has a couple.

Kolobags has my favorite selection. The designs are unique and stylish, not as cookie cutter like as the above ones. And they...

Anapod Explorer – Molesting your Ipod via Windows Explorer

LcdpwWhen it comes to transferring music to my Ipod I personally can’t stand using itunes. I highly prefer the latest free version of Real Player for using my ipod and listening to my music library. Oh, and unlike the narrow minded itunes which only plays AAC, MP3 and Wav files, Real Player plays  several music file types and videos too. yeh and there’s that annoying thing Itunes won’t let you do – transferring files back from your ipod to your computer. Yes, this is exactly the kind of thing that causes Apple’s aggravation with Real Player Networks. I was reading T3 UK, my favorite gadget mag, and in the back they have a section with tips for using your gear. One of their tips/recommendations for transferring files from your ipod back onto your computer was to download a free program called Anapod Explorer. Anapod explorer also allows you to access the files on your ipod via windows explorer. The company behind Anapod also offers similar software programs for other popular hard drive music players. Definately worth checking out – Red Chair Software

Finally, a good way to keep earphone wires untangled

I love my ipod but i constantly get frusterated when i pull it out of my bag and discover the wires tangled. The length of the remote wire helps make the situation even worse. Even though it only takes a minute to untangle it all, it really irritates me – especially when I’m in a rush. I’ve considered buying a retracteable earphone set but my friend warned me that they tend to break easily. I did some research via Ipod Lounge and discovered the Earpod. For $10 you get a little white plastic piece that solves all your tangling worries – or atleast they say so. Reviewers seem to agree that it works well. So i guess this means I have to order it.

Living the life of a microsoft Junky – The PDA2k & Mpx220

WindowsmobileIt’s been a while since I posted so let me talk about some of the great toys I’ve gotten during the past two months. Firstly, I got the I-mate PDA2k and I’ve never been happier with a PDA or smartphone. I’m blown away by how fast web sites load up with it. It’s almost as fast as my in-house wifi. It’s a real relief from the SK II. However, the SK II did satisfy me while I had it. The SKII is still a great affordable messaging device, and it’s keyboard is still the best out there.
The PDAk2 I must say was worth the money ($850 plus $50 on a Piel Frama case) I’m really happy with how stable it is. It hasn’t locked up once yet and it’s running pretty fast. I’ve had alot of pocket pcs in the past which always locked up and had much more problemss – my latest one being the Ipaq 4150. Maybe it’s the PDAk2’s 128mb ? I dunno but I love this device. One complaint though – the plastic is kinda beige which is kinda ick. If you have the extra cash get the black XDAs!
