There are lots of prepaid wireless companies out there, but until now I’d never heard of Net10. Their rates are very competitive at 10 cents per minute – local, long distance and roaming included. And they have a large coverage area around the U.S. Their cell phones are also reasonabley priced, you get a Motorola V171 color flip phone for $89.99. Sounds like this company is definately worth checking out!

What you forget is you don’t have the option of paying just for what you use. Say you only use 20 minutes in a month it still costs you $30. They make you pay $360 a year whether you want to talk or not. A true 10 cent plan would be that you pay for each minute you use rather than accumulating minutes you dont need or use, and in order to keep the phone active you have to keep paying and paying and paying
I paid $100 for one year of prepaid service with ATT and that gave me 500 minutes. I used only 300 minutes in the year and had $38.00 credit left. That was little more than 8 dollers per month

Actually, it may have changed from earlier but you don’t have to add airtime every thirty days. Now you have to add it at least every 60 days. So you end up paying $180 a year rather than $360. And I think most people who use a cell phone with any regularity at all would find this a good cell phone deal, especially since you are getting 10 cents a minute.
A lot of people can’t afford to pay $100 up front for a year of coverage. $15 a month for 10 cents a minute is NOT unreasonable at all. I’m not sure if Net10 does this, but Tracfone does and they are owned by the same company…with tracfone when you buy airtime minutes early, not only do your minutes rollover, but your service time rolls over too. If you had 30 days of service time left and buy a card with 60 days service time, you don’t have to refill for another 90 days.
people who almost never use a cell phone and can’t pay a lot up front, might do best with Virgin Mobile which allows you the option of adding only $20 every 90 days to keep it active.
With Net10 though, unlike most plans you purchase your phone and it comes with 60 days of active service plus 300 minutes. So if you get one of the less expensive phones ($40) then you only really pay $10 for the phone itself. (considering your airtime.)

I own a Net 10 Nokia 1600 prepaid cell phone and am very pleased with it. I have looked at other prepaid plans but they don’t compare with Net 10. Most of them only come with 10 or 20 minutes on them so you have to purchase more time when you purchase the phone. Net 10 comes with 300 minutes for 60 days.
If you don’t use all of the 300 minutes, they roll over to the next 60 days. I find that this plan is a lot better than others because you get more minutes for your money. The only exception would be with Virgin Mobile which give up 300 minutes of $25 instead of $30 but it only comes with 20 minutes of air time so you have to purchase more air time when purchasing the phone.

This company is totally worth a look and I’m so glad I switched over to thenm. I really love the ease and price of Net10 versus any other company I’ve had and best of all, I don’t worry about any contracts or hidden fees in pages of bills. My Samsung phone was $79 plus activation (which came with 300 minutes) and I went with a $60/600M after I became comfortable with the company – its helped me save more than $50 every month. After doing my homework, I realized Net10 really does charge only .10 cents a call and .03 for texting and you dont go over because the actual phone display keeps track of it for you. Net10 great for travelling since the TMobile network has great reception and international calling is .15 cents a minute. Its as easy as Best Buy or Target for pick-up and its truly a great deal.
