Apparently a bill was passed by President Bush on
Monday that will extend daylight savings time by four
weeks, starting in 2007. According to the House Energy and Commerce committee,
the four-week extension could save the equivalent of 100,000 barrels of oil per
day in energy. Ok, that doesn’t make much sense to me… but then again I’m just
a computer nerd, not an energy nerd. What’s interesting about this news is the
effect it’ll have on gadgets. Apparently this whole scheme will screw up some
computers and electronics that aren’t able to be reprogrammed to accommodate the
time change. So what are we gonna call this thing - Y2K.B, Y2k and a half, Y2k
XP, Y2k the Next Generation, Bush 2k….
