Samsung YP-T8 is a better buy then the Ipod Nano” mini review.
First off, the Audio
quality of the YP-T8 is overwhelmingly superior to the Nano. The Nano’s
audio seems good until you listen to the YP-T8 which blows you away. Testing was done using several different earphone sets on each device. Notably the earphones supplied with the YP-T8 are significantly superior to the
earphones included with the Nano. Sound
quality can definitely be subjective, but overwhelmingly everyone who tested
both devices agreed that the YP-T8 has superior sound quality. Personally I
think that the YP-T8 has the best audio quality I’ve ever listened to on any Mp3
Player.
wise. Apple is marketing the Nano as “Impossibly Small” – and it really is, so
that just makes you wander about how small the YP-T8 is. However, the YP-T8 is a
little thicker and slightly wider than the Nano, however it is still very easy
to hold and it fits comfortably in your hand. As far as weight goes, the YP-T8 is slightlier heavier weighing in at 1.94 ounces versus the Nano’s 1.5 ounces.
Nano’s user interface. The YP-T8′s menu system and buttons do take a few minutes to get used too but
once you figure it out it is a breeze to use. You can’t blame the YP-T8′s user
interface for being more complicated than the Nano’s, after all – the YP-T8
offers video playback, voice recording and FM playback and recording which are all features that
the Nano doesn’t have.
though, it is more suitable for occasonal video watching because the screen size
is a bit too small to look at for lengthy periods of time.
The Nano
design is beautiful but one big gripe I have against it is that it gets
scratched very easily. I can’t tell you how aggravating that is for someone who
likes to keep her gadgets in pristine shape. Worse yet, is that there are no
cases available for the Nano yet on the market that aren’t sold out or just not
available till October. Kudos to Samsung for including a Silicon case with belt
clip for the YP-T8. While the YP-T8 isn’t as easily damageable as the Nano, the
includable case will definitely help protect it. There’s also an included neckstrap so that you can wear the YP-T8.
Finally, if your concerned about the price of the YP-T8 – shop around. We got it from Page Computers for $211, which is siginificantly less then the list price of $249.95. There is a 512mb version with a list price of $199.95, but purchasing the 512mb version isn’t too smart, especially when you can get double the capacity for a just little bit more cash.

memory, get the YP-T8. I wish I had!
