Caravan_1Caravan is one of New York City’s hottest new boutiques, and probably the most unusual of all of them because it’s actually a whole shop on wheels. The only way to track down Caravan is by getting real-time GPS coordinates from its web site. Inside Caravan’s 240 foots Winnebago is clothing and art for sale, a GPS transmitter, a plasma screen, a wireless credit card processing unit, and a system that has receipts emailed to customers. Could there be a future for more shops on wheels like Caravan? Online shopping is great because you can shop from home, but shopping for certain products can be aggravating – especially when it comes to clothing which you usually need to try on first. But what if one day you had the whole store actually come to you? You heard it here first.
