Why Companies Should Be Giving Us Free Gadgets

It’s a known fact that companies give free gadgets to celebrates because they believe it to be an affective way to advertise their product. I am not going to delve into how much this irks me, at least not today. But I am going to point out a recent news story which helps prove my theory that giving free gadgets to regular folk can be a very effective method of advertising as well.
Cnet News reports that a seventeen year old video blogger uploaded a video to YouTube that she made using a Logitech web cam, and Logitech’s avatar effects software. In just over a week the video logged more than 210,000 page views.
The result? Two of Logitech Webcams were among Amazon’s 100 best selling electronics’s items this past Friday. We all know where I’m heading with this. The moral of the story is that companies should consider giving us regular Joe Shmoes free toys!
