I’ve always wanted to learn French but I’ve never gotten around to it. iLingo might be the answer for me, it is language translation software designed for your iPod. The iLingo packs come with over four hundred essential words and phrases. There is a Euro Pack that retails for $49.95 which languages include Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, French, and German. And there is also the iLingo AsiaPack which retails for $39.95 and includes Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Unfortunately, iLingo won’t work with older ipods and the shuffle, but it does work with most ipods purchased after May 2003.

There are so many Nano knock-offs on Ebay, it’s almost hard to find the genuine ones. We found one particular knock-off one that shocked us because listed as one of its features is a "built-in VOIP Skype Phone." We can’t help wonder if this is for real. Of course, it also has the other features that similar Nano rip-offs have, such as playing video, WMA music files, and having an FM radio.
And yes, we are very aware that we spend too much time on
eBay.

Two of our favorite gaming classics, Sonic the Hedgehog and Lemmings, are now available to download on to your phone through ifone. Both are compatible with the majority of handsets out there. but what we’re really iching for is some Mario Bros. on our phone that doesn’t require emulation software. Is that so much to ask for, Nintendo?

As part of our quest to find as many iPod rip-offs as possible, we’ve discovered a new Nano look-a-like to add to the collection. The Invoxix iPocket is available in black and white versions, is just 7.5mm thick, and it looks strikingly similar to the Nano. And of course, like similar Nano rip-offs, the iPocket can one up the Nano by playing video, MP3, WMA, and WAV files, FM radio, and having a voice recording capability. Of course there is a catch … the battery pathetically lasts for just 4 hours. But in case you’re crazy enough to still be interested, the 512mb version retails for about $110 USD and a 4GB version is on its way.

She sells sea-shells by the sea… wait that’s not a sea shell, that is a computer case. The Lian Li PC-777 is one of the most unique computer cases we’ve ever layed eyes upon. It’s made of light aluminum, has seven PCI slots, and two 12cm fans. Call us crazy, but we think this is beautiful and artistic, and certainly a lot better looking then boring old box shaped towers. Freshly Squeezed Flash is a web site dedicated to modding your USB flash drives. The site has do-it-yourself tutorials that will guide you through modding your flash drive. Sample projects include transforming your drive in to an adorable USB PEZ drive, a rubber ducky flash drive, and a hot wheels car drive. These projects are geared towards older children, but they look like they would be entertaining for all ages, though parental supervision is required for younger children. (Thanks, Rae)

Weighing just 95 grams, and measuring 65mm x 65mm x 18mm, the Genus VIZO is one of the most compact personal media players around. It’s also a jack of all trades with the ability to play MP3, OGG and WMA files, view JPEG photos and watch MP4, Mpeg1, Mpeg2, DIVX and Avi movies on its 2 inch screen. Unfortunately, T3 magazine claims that it doesn’t do any of these things very well. Sound plays averagely, the 2 inch screen is uncomfortable to stare at, and can we scoff at the 1GB of memory?. At least, the VIZO has a decent 4 hour battery life for video playback. The Genus Vizo retails for £99.99 (about $184 USD).

There seems to be a never ending supply of iPod Nano and Shuffle rip-offs floating around ebay these days, but one particular Shuffle rip-off has drawn our attention because it’s everything the Shuffle isn’t but should be. This Shuffle rip-off has almost identical looks compared to the real thing, except it sports an LCD, plays WMA files, has an FM player and recorder, has voice recording features, and an integrated neck strap.
The ebay seller is currently only selling a 512mb version for a starting bid of $39.99. A car charger and USB extender are even thrown into the package. Who wants to take the plunge and buy one of these things? We’re so tempted to get one just so we can carry it around and start a rumor about new 2G shuffles with displays.  We are so bad…

Skype might be taking over the world, but if you’re a Windows Mobile Smartphone owner then you’re probably disappointed that Skype doesn’t offer a version to use. Until they do – if they ever do, Barablu is offering Free Mobile to Mobile, PC to Mobile, PC to PC, IP Phone to Mobile, and IP Phone to IP Phone calls, to anyone who downloads and installs their software. However, in order to take advantage of the Free Mobile to Mobile you need a phone with Wifi.

We’ve seen computers of all shapes and sizes, and we’ve seen computer desks of all shapes and sizes, but we never considered that someone would combine the two to make one. The Powerdesk is a desk embedded with a PC inside of it, with the controls, ports and CD/DVD drives built into the thickness of the desktop. The result is less clutter from wires and hardware. The company claims that it’s virtually impossible to steal a
Powerdesk  because no thief would be able to find the computer. They also say that the Powerdesk protects your data better then the

iPods have become so popular that they’re potential to work as a sort of PDA has been exploited in several ways, which includes using it to store Subway Maps, children’s stories, exercises, and other databases of information for reference. If you enjoy cooking and drinking,
then you might want to check out Pocket Bar & Grill which stores 750 drink recipes and 225 meal recipes on your iPod. CNET gave it a very good review but they believe that it’s a bit more practical for referencing drinks then it is for cooking. 

There are tons of streaming goodies on line, but what if you want to capture them on to your hard drive?. ReplayA/V captures Windows Media, Real, Quicktime, Flash, Flash Video, AOL Video and Shoutcast streaming video and audio. The possibilities are endless – perhaps you’ll burn some stuff onto a CD, or maybe transfer it to your iPod to watch? Unfortunately, we don’t know how  legal this is and we assume it varies according to what video and audio source you are capturing. Anyway, there is a demo version available, and the full retail version costs $49.99. Now we can’t help but wonder if it can be used with ABC’s new free on line streaming episodes like Lost and Alias….
