AEVOE’s PockiT Digital Camera Case Review & Win It!

A while
back we posted about the hip AEVOE’s PockiT digital camera cases. AEVOE sent us
over a few samples and we’re totally loving these cases. I’m currently using a
Sony DSC-T9 camera, and while it’s a great ultracompact camera, its large LCD
screen can be prone to scruffs and scratches.
Fortunately the PockiT case has
come to the rescue. The case is made out of combination of a leather and stain
repellant micorfibre and viscotex, a visco-elastic foam insert that effectively
absorbs shock. There is enough cushioning to protect from shocks from drops,
but not too much or else the case would become bloated and ugly.

Inside,
a soft layer of microfibre guarantees that my shiny LCD remains blemish free. And instead of using an ordinary zipper, or velcro to secure
the camera, a magnet clasp on top of the case prevents the camera from
falling out. However, the clasp is almost not necessary because my camera fits very
snuggly and securely inside of the case, so much so that you could turn the case
upside down and the camera wouldn’t fall out unless you shook it really hard.
Of course, different cameras of different sizes will fit differently inside
the case. The magnet is also really easy to
close and easy to open, and it also happens to be fun to play with.

A detachable handle loop is also
included in case you want to carry your camera around your wrist for the day or
perhaps want to tie it to a bag or other accessory. To top it
all off, the guys over at Aevoe really seemed to think of everything – even the
funky tubular package that the case comes in can be reused to store stuff in.

Overall,
we love the PockiT case because not only does it look cool, it’s made very
well, and it’s also extremely practical, and thus we highly recommend it. Want a
Sakura pink PockiT case for yourself? Leave a comment on this post (or e-mail us), and the most
desperate, or the most clever post scores you one.

I’m a formerly hip mother of two (both under the age of 4) currently going through a mid-life, fashion-deprivation crisis. The time “post baby” can be a real fashion challenge. I recently bought the Sanyo Xacti (in chic red, no less) so I can capture all my boys’ charming moments in style, but the case my husband bought for it looks like military issue camping gear. Help me regain some dignity!

I completely sympathize with Hip Mother. I’ve been trying to replace the great camera case I recently lost. It was small, quite fun & well designed, bright pink, padded, with strong velcro fastenings and, very important, room for 4 AA rechargable batteries. I think I paid about $15. It was made in Australia, and had a surfer kind of wackiness about it. It could fasten to my purse strap and I loved it. But the camera store now has only the most depressing guy stuff, and I can’t find anything online. I’d rather keep my camera in a baggie than in one of those things. Don’t they think women buy cameras?

The Pockit is attractive, but it doesn’t appear to have room for those batteries. Does it?

Oh, Hip Mother, I completely sympathize. I lost my wacky pink nylon Australian camera case wtih room for 4 AAA batteries and can’t find anything a woman would want. My local camera store evidently doesn’t think that women use cameras. Does the cute case pictured have room for those important batteries? If so, I might be interested.
