Chumby
I know what you’re thinking, what the heck is that? At first glance it looks like a padded mini tv with a 3.5" screen. But what’s neat is that the Chumby as it’s called, has a multitude of purposes. It uses a wireless internet connection to allow you to listen to MP3s and access web info like the weather, news, etc via widgets, it can also serve as an alarm clock, and exchange messages and pictures between friends. Plus, hackers will appreciate the fact that it’s all open source. For crafty chicks, the housing can be modified so you can personalize it to your liking. Unfortunately, Chumby is not available for sale yet, but you can sign up to be alerted when it becomes available. They’re hoping to make the price $150 or less. -Leah Cheng

Man…I was lucky enough to get an ‘alpha’ Chumby just recently (at FOO)…but it’s a wee bit buggy.

Still…I loooooove Chumby. I can’t wait to break it (literally) in! :)
