yea i got a BJ2 also and i ordered a 4gig microsd card then i found out there was this and now i really want it.. anyone got any new info on when its gonna be released ?

AdventureMom, can you point us to a product page? Your link goes to the shopping cart at buygpsnow.com. Also, we’re looking for the Spectec MicroSD Wi-Fi card, model number SDW-823. Searching at buygpsnow shows no results. They have MiniSD and SD wi-fi, but not MicroSD. Thanks! -bill

Just heard from them last week. Apparently there will be several more months of delays to get the Spectec microsd wi-fi card. Oh well.

It does not look like this card is ever going to be manufactured. I have moved on to a Sony Ericsson P1 wihich has Wi-Fi built in and doesnt use micro-sd anyway.
It seems that the micro-sd form is just too small to fit wi-fi inside.
Pehaps phone manufacturers who want to add upgradability (why would they do that anyway because then you wont buy new phones) need to go back to the slightly larger mini-SD.

Wow. this idea is still alive. I have the Black Jack first series, and I would have thought for sure that the BlackJack II would have come with WIFI support built-in. Now Samsung either ran out of space (which with ALL of the other buttons / and communication options) I find hard to belive.
OR built-in WIFI was left out intentionally so that you would be forced to be dependant on either ATT EDGE or 3G data network.

So I really have to ask: Do you really think they will manufacture this card? I seriously have my doubts. Last time I googled Micro SD Wifi cards (09/07) this site, and articles referencing this compahy were there only hits. (maybe things have changed)
I had to lay my bets, I’d call this a red herring idea.

Hey kip, if you plan to use the web browser on the blackjack you should get an unlimited data plan. I have a blackjack because i liked my co-workers and i have unlimited. it comes in handy sometimes. my co-worker ended up dropping his data plan to a specific monthly rate for x amount of megabites and he ended up going over. his overage charge on data got him a bill of 250 dollars when he thought he was going to save by down grading his plan. our plans are normally about 80 bucks a month with employee discounts.

I too have a blackjack. I was not very impressed by its constant dropped calls and whatnot. But overall it’s a pretty good phone. (really tough too, I’ve dropped it many a time )
Anyhow, I was wondering if there will be charges for internet use through the provider? In other words, will I be charged as if I was browsing the web on my phone?
