it can operate up to seven devices at the same time. It runs on 2 AA batteries
and retails for $25 at Brookstone. Get it in time for the Super Bowl party at

LG’s Holier Then Thou 1900 R LCD Monitor

By Chip Chick

October 23rd, 2006

Lg1900r
LG’s 1900 R LCD monitor has a crazy unique black and red design with a hole in it. At last, the hole does have a purpose to it… well sort of. LG’s home page says,"When you turn on the light, red light comes on clockwise direction to make you feel the smoothness of the light." We’re not so sure what that means but it sounds cool enough. Aside from that neat yet useless feature, the 1900 R sports a 2000:1 contrast ratio and a 4ms response time.
But if you think the L1900 R (R as in Ring) is nuts, check out its sisters the L 1900 Jar and and L 1900 Eclipse which also sport similar crazy yet beautiful styles.

and the T10 is an improvement on its predecessors. Sony’s pink T10 Digital
Camera

Review: Volta Rechargeable Battery Pack for iPod with Video

By Chip Chick

October 23rd, 2006

Volta4_2
I love my 5G iPod, it’s a life savor on long subway rides. However, its 2 hour
battery life for video playback just doesn’t cut it when I’m traveling from
Manhattan to Brooklyn and back. The battery never fails to run out on my way
home. There have been many days when I would have to monitor how much I used my
ipod during the course of the day, so that I could conserve battery
power for relaxing while watching videos on my way home.

Along came the Volta
which promised to give 5G ipods an extra three cycles of battery time.
Measuring 2" x 4.4" x 1", the Volta has a very slim profile about the same
thickness as the 30gb ipod but it is a bit taller and a little less wider then
the ipod. The volta is also pretty light and doesn’t add too much weight to your
ipod.

Volta1
Sonnet’s Volta comes with a belt clip so that you can charge your ipod
and wear it at the same time. The belt clip easily slips on and off of the
Volta, yet still holds your ipod securely. The belt clip is a nice bonus, but
personally I wouldn’t wear it and imagine that many ladies wouldn’t either. The
Volta also comes with a matching black USB 2.0 to dock connector cable. We like
that the included cable isn’t white like the standard version that comes with
the ipod which tends to get filthy very easily....

Pinkipodripoffs
We’ve seen them before and we’re sure that we’ll come across them again,
yep we’ve spotted more ipod rip offs. These ones are a little bit unusual
because the Platinum 2.0 is available in purple and the Neon Mp4 player is

ipod rip off: 1a 1.5" 65k display, support for MP3, WMA, WAV, ASF files, FM radio, video playback for
files converted to the MTV format. And besides their colored shells, they
both have a built-in speaker which is a nice touch. Both Nano knock-offs weigh around
30 grams and retail for $51.99 and $49.99 respectively. At those prices these
might make a good gift for tweens and kids.

By Chip Chick

October 20th, 2006

640219 01 huge Philips X53 & X55 Ultraportable LaptopsWe didn’t even know that Philips made laptops, let alone ultraportables. In the U.K., Currys is selling the Philips Ultraportable X53 for £799.99, weighing just 1.85kg (4 lbs), it has a 1.66mhz Core Duo T2050 Processor, 1GB of ram, an 80GB hard drive and 12.1 inch widescreen. Dixon’s is selling the X55 for Core Duo T2050 Processor 1.66GHz, it sports similar specs except that it has a Core Duo 2 T5500 processor, 100GB hard drive and Windows Media Center running inside. Oddly enough we can’t find a product page for either of these. Has anyone heard of these or seen them in person? The X53 looks pretty good from the one picture we found of it.

Emailattachment
Ever had a 200MB file you needed to send to someone but you had no way to send it
to them because your email was capped with a 20mb attachment limit? We’ve
all been in situations like that. For a while YouSendIt’s free File hosting
service
was our savior, but they no longer offer free hosting for file sizes above 100MB. So we
sought out new alternatives and were pleased to discover a page from someone’s
LiveJournal on which the author put together a great breakdown of lots of other
YouSendit alternatives. Amongst our new favorites is Badongo which allows you to
send files up to 1GB in size and offers unlimited downloads, as well as Up-File and MiHD
which both have no maximum file size limits.

Desperate Housewives: The Computer Game

By Chip Chick

October 17th, 2006

DesperatehousewivesthegameDesperate Housewives: The Game, is a new computer game based on the TV show. It seems pretty obvious that the  target audience for this game are women. "In the Desperate Housewives game, players
take on the role of a new housewife who moves into Wisteria Lane and
unlocks the delicious scandals hidden in the seemingly "perfect"
neighborhood. Mary Alice Young (voiced by Brenda Strong in the game)
serves as the omniscient narrator in this lifestyle simulation game." Overall, it seems that if you like the Sims and you like Desperate Housewives, then chances are you will like this game. Gamers over at IGN have given Desperate Housewives: The Game an average score of 7.2 which isn’t bad at all. But the best part of the game though is that it retails for an average of $19, so if you end up not taking to it, you won’t feel too bad.
