Affr1001
Everyone knows true fortunes come from fortune cookies and not Magic 8-balls. Smart Cookie by Fred looks like the giant version [5" wide] of the real deal. Flip it over and it displays 21 answers to all your life questions. When not dishing out witty messages, it makes for a kitschy paperweight. Comes packaged in a clear Chinese take-out container and retails for $9.99. -Leah Cheng

Griffin’s PowerMateMultimedia Controller with a Knob Design

By Chip Chick

October 16th, 2006

Powermate
Griffin’s PowerMate is a USB multimedia controller with a knob design. The PowerMate looks like a volume knob with a USB connector coming out of it, and it can serve as one but it can also be customized to do a bunch of other stuff like scroll through documents, edit home movies, and an assortment of other things. You can even customize what happens when you push it down. Another neat yet not-so-practical feature of the PowerMate is its cool blue glowing light that shows you the visual status of what you’re controlling. For example, turn up the volume and the light gets brighter. The concept is a bit similar to to Logitech’s NuLOOQ but at a retail price of $45.00 its also significantly less expensive.

Pink Chairs with Speakers to Rock Out In

By Chip Chick

October 16th, 2006

Irockers
Fancy yourself a pink iRocker but don’t feel like spending $289 just on a chair with speakers that you can attach your ipod too? Aside from the iRocker, Target also has a pink Blast Pod Audio Rocker that retails for $99. Both chairs basically function the same way except that the iRocker has 15 watt amp versus the Blast Pod’s 10 watt amp. And unlike the Blast Pod, the iRocker also sports 4 reclining positions, but if you’re on a budget, the Blast Pod will suffice. The Blast Pod Audio Rocker is also available in navy Blue and the iRocker is also available in red, black and blue. But if for some reason $99 is even to much to spend on your bum, there are inflatable audio rockers that retail for $29 and come in the colors blue/white, green/white and red/white.

By Chip Chick

October 13th, 2006

Watches
Recently SonyEricsson tried to make a bid splash with their bluetooth watches that connect to their cell phones. However, we should have known better that there were already other bluetooth watches out there that connect to bluetooth phones, even though Chronotech’s Bluevoice bluetooth watches don’t function quite the same way, these are in many ways cooler then SonyEricsson’s watches because these watches’ time piece serve as a detachable bluetooth headset. Chronotech’s Bluevoice watches will be available in several different colors, including ever so popular pink, blue and green sparkle, just to name a few. They will be available in early November with the analog version retailing for $127.95 and the digital version retailing for $119.95.Bluevoice2

Cook-N-Dine Eliminates Slaving Over a Hot Stove

By Natalie Mayslich

October 12th, 2006

Tslaid6_op_439x398Everyone loves to share a finely cooked meal with family or fri
ends, unless they’re the one in charge of preparing it. Cook-N-Dine eliminates need to slave over a hot stove any longer, instead have everyone contribute to meal preparation with the Cook-N-Dine.
The Cook-N-Dine is a stainless steel table that doubles as a grill surface when plugged in to a power outlet. There are three different temperate sections: the cooking area, which sinks down slightly when heated and forms a sort of shallow pit, the warming area (to keep your food warm or reheat it), and the eating area. The eating area is always cool to the touch and occupies a large space to the end of the table. The table returns to level when cooled.
Although they don’t specify how long it takes to cool, I assume that isn’t a huge issue. The only real concern I have with the product is ventilation. I wonder if the designers of the Cook-N-Dine expect the consumer to purchase a vent in addition to their $4000 product? – Natalie Mayslich

Image Advanced Treadmill with LCD TV

By Chip Chick

October 12th, 2006

Tvtreadmill
Image Advanced Treadmills with LCD TVs are cool enough to entice us to actually exercise. There are several different ones a part of the series which each come with an LCD TV and built in speakers. Our favorite is the priciest one, the Image Advanced 4000 that comes with a 10.2" interactive TV. You can connect an antennae or COAX cable to the TV, or you can watch DVDs on it by connecting your DVD player via an RF converter. As for the treadmill itself, it has 33 workout programs, four fans and a bunch of other stuff which we don’t care about but probably should. The Image Advanced 4000 Treadmill retails for $1,894 at WalMart.

LandRollers Aim to Replace Rollerblades

By Chip Chick

October 12th, 2006

Lr005_pipNowadays Rollerblades are super tacky, as a matter of fact if you have the need to strap suicide wheels to your feet then it’d probably be cooler to wear some retro roller skates. But if you really want to get noticed then you got to get yourself a a pair of LandRoller skates. LandRollers look almost like what it would be having a Segway attached to each of your shoes. Supposedly Landrollers give you an enhanced skating experience. We think this is just another way to break your neck. But hey if they have David Boreanaz pushing it, how bad can it be? You can pick a pair of LandRoller Skates up at the Sharper Image for $199.95.

SleepTracker Wristwatch Review

By Chip Chick

October 11th, 2006

Sleeptracker
If there is one thing that I know about my own sleep history,
it’s that it is either a hit or miss. There are times when I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the
world, and then there are times, when I awake from my slumber feeling like some
groggy eyed zombie. This is not a good experience, to say the least, especially
since I go to bed at the same time every night (9pm). What if I told you that there is a device to aid you in
having a more predictable and pleasing waking experience? The good folks at
Innovative Sleep Solutions LLC gave me the opportunity to try out their
Sleeptracker watch, and I took them up on it. For 15 days, I used the
Sleeptracker and took it through its paces.  The Sleeptracker differs from that of a conventional
watch, in that it monitors your sleep cycle and is designed to detect when
you’re almost awake and then awakes you at just the right time, thus, feeling
invigorated.

Logitech’s NuLOOQ Professional Series Now Available for Windows XP

By Chip Chick

October 10th, 2006
Nulooq
Most creative professionals will pay anything to be more efficient, which
is why the very unique NuLOOQ controller and software package is popular with many of them. However, until now the NuLOOQ has only been compatible with Macs. Some of
the the few cool things NuLOOQ can do include adjusting brush size in one pixel
increments in Photoshop without ever moving a slider or clicking on a shortcut
key, fine-tuning font attributes such as leading, tracking and more in InDesign,
scroll and zoom your documents, spreadsheets, digital pictures or more with the
smallest movement of the gray ring, quickly or slowly scrubbing timelines in
Final Cut Pro or iMovie, and changing volume or music tracks in iTunes quickly while
it runs in the background. Unfortunately, it does take some time to get used to the NuLOOQ but
for many it will be worth it. Overall it’s refreshing to see a truly
out-of-the-box mouse alternative out there. The NuLOOQ package retails for
$79.00

CueFlash Virtual Flash Card Web Program

By Chip Chick

October 10th, 2006
Cueflash_icon
Flash cards are a staple of grade school memories for most of us. I
personally remember learning multiplication with them. But kids today no
longer have to bother with making their own flash cards, or even buying them.
CueFlash.com is a virtual flash card web program from which you can create and
share flash cards. The site also has a public library with tons of useful flash
cards such as Spanish flash cards, the Periodic Table and of course –
multiplication. (Thanks, Jesse)

New Get a Mac Ads are More Obnoxious Than Ever

By Chip Chick

October 10th, 2006

Getamac_1
Until now we could barely stand the Get a Mac ads. Personally we like both Macs and PCs but those ads make you hate "Macs" for being so pompous. Well, Apple just posted three new Get a Mac ads and these are more irritating then the previous ones,  especially the one featuring super model Gisele BÃŒndchen representing a Mac-made video. If you love PCs then you won’t want to know what they use to represent a PC-made video. Final Cut Pro is great… but did they forget about Avid on the PC which has been an industry standard for years?
