Inbox.com is Cut Out to be a Good GMail Alternative

If GMail’s 2GB just doesn’t cut it for you, Inbox.com looks to be a good alternative with its current offering of 5GB of free storage. Some of Inbox.com’s features include support for attachments up to 20MB, they also offer you POP3 and SMTP access so that you can send and receive your mail using your mail client of choice, and they have an optional toolbar that you can install on your computer to notify you of new emails. Inbox.com is also designed to enable you store document files in your account so that you can use your account to back up files off of your computer which can then be accessed via any web browser. Gmail can also be used as a Backup drive, but in order to use your Gmail drive as a back up drive, you have to install the Gmail Drive Shell Extension which hasn’t been developed by Google itself and overall using the Gmail Drive Shell Extension can be disorienting when it comes to identifying files stored in your Gmail account via Gmail’s web interface. On the other hand, Inbox.com is designed so that you can synchronize and back up the data on your computer with your Inbox account. Inbox.com also offers photo storage, online calendar management, and notes, making it a very well rounded package. And if you ever fill up the 5GB of space that they have allotted to you for free, you can upgrade to 30GB for just $29.96 a year or $2.50 a month.
