In the U.K. they have a zillion DAB Radios of all shapes and sizes. On the other hand, in the U.S. not only do we have to pay monthly subscription fees for our digital radio, we also don’t have much choices for hardware so that we could blast our digital subscriptions out loud for everyone hear, wherever we’d like. Sirius’ Starmate Replay Boom Cube aims to change all that with its 2 microdrivers and a subwoofer, and it runs off of 8 D batteries so that you can take it with you to work, the beach, or where ever else. The Starmate Replay Boom Cube retails for $99.99.

Forget every iPod alarm clock that you have ever seen before, this Alarm Clock from Radio Shack is the real deal with it’s retro design. This iPod alarm clock also charges your ipod, has a 9-minute snooze function and it also has a speaker so that you can listen to the music on your ipod. The alarm clock is compatible with the iPod Nano, iPod with Video, and 3G ipods. It’s available in black or white for $49.99.

Update 11/27/06: Our local Radio Shack had these Alarm Clocks on sale for $29.99. We got one and are happy with it so far. The speakers are surprisingly powerful and clear. We just wish it had the option of running on batteries so that we could travel with it.

JotForm Offers Free Online Form Builder with Drag and Drop Interface

By Chip Chick

November 24th, 2006

Jotform
Previously we recommended AllForms, a great free online form builder. Creating online forms can be a hassle. Most average folk aren’t too keen on figuring out how to store the data submitted to forms, so that is why there are so many companies online that will do it for you, but they will charge you. JotForm is another great Free Online Form Builder, but unlike AllForms which can get a bit complicated, JotForm’s Drag and Drop interface may be easier for some people. Like AllForms, JotForm allows you to extract your data as an Excel or CSV format, and you can include your own header and footer on the forms.

Shanling’s strangely designed SCD-T200A is a high end CD player for the wealthy audiophile. The CD player has a top loading system situated inside custom-made aluminum housing surrounded by tube electronics. It also uses the latest Sony KHM-2334AAA drive and the Sony CXD2752R SACD decoding chip.  The SCD-T200A will set you back a whopping 3 grand, making us think that perhaps if they’d change the aluminum housing to gold, that then we might consider it.Scdt200a

Happy Belated Birthday to the IBM PC

By Chip Chick

November 22nd, 2006

4 1 Happy Belated Birthday to the IBM PC
We feel really bad about this. We don’t know how to make it up to you, our beloved PCs. You’re such an important part of our lives, please forgive us for delivering this message to you so late…. It’s just that your grandkids have been keeping us sooo busy. We spend most of our day working on them, playing with them, and sometimes we even live through them.  But anyway Happy Birthday to you, the IBM 5150, the first successful personal computer to change world. The 5150 cost $1,565 on August 12, 1981 when it was released. It had 16k of memory, just enough to hold a couple of e-mails.
And dear 5150, we swear that you don’t look a day over 25. (Except that 25 in computer years is the equivalent to the Stone Age.) (Source: BBC News)

Aurora Rocket Alarm Clock With Mood Lighting

By Chip Chick

November 21st, 2006

Flashgordon
Remember Flash Gordon? He traveled off in a rocket to another world in a classically cheesy quest to save Earth. And you know you loved every minute of it. The Aurora Rocket Clock kinda resembles that ole’ rocket that Flash had, except this one won’t blast you in to space. At least not until it’s time to wake you up with its funky mood light and alarm clock. This little rocket clock glows a different color for every hour through a 12 hour period. We’re just a sucker for retro chic. The Aurora Rocket Clock retails for $53.98. Aurroc_lg

By Chip Chick

November 21st, 2006
TabloidThere are only a zillion ways to get fresh celebrity gossip and videos on
line. To just name one example, PerezHilton is as addictive as you can get. But if you you are
looking for some news on a specific celebrity, iBloid, the "internet Tabloid" should be your
destination. Unlike most print tabloids
that are flooded with disorienting photos of drunk, anorexic and make-up free
celebs, iBloid is an organized and clutter-free site that can keep you up to
date with the latest musings on your favorite celebrity. Basically the site
seems to be a sort of news aggregator that catches links to the latest articles on the web featuring
your fave celeb. We also digg how clicking on a celebrity’s video list comes
up with a whole slew of videos featuring that celeb somehow. Afterall, how else could we discover a treasure like A Day
in the Life of Macy Gray

230400425 Teksta V2 Robotic Puppy Makes a Great Cheap Aibo Alternative
We get it – you were crushed when they discontinued the Aibo, especially since you never got the chance to scrounge up enough moola to splurge on one. For £36.75 ($69 USD) you can soothe your pain with the Teksta V2 Robotic Puppy which does look strikingly similar to the AIBO. Sure, the Teksta V2 Robotic Puppy may not be as advanced as the Aibo was, but he is sophisticated enough to be activated by voice, touch and light. His eyes also light up and his tail will wag to show you how he is feeling, just like a real AIBO, errr, or should we say just like a real dog? He also barks, whines and whimpers. And an included handheld translator will help you understand what exactly he is trying to convey when he barks, whines and whimpers.
