Thanks for the quick review… and the cool screenshot! I bought a new laptop recently, which I use for heavy video editing, and it screams; but I am skeptical about going for that Vista upgrade they offered me, because I can’t afford to sacrifice performance just for something pretty and new. Once you’ve tried it out for a while, and decide to upgrade your desktop, drop us another article and let us know how it’s going!

I used a pre release version of Windows Vista for a couple days, and I must say it is beautiful. However it suffers from the same old things which I have always hated about Microsoft Windows.

Before I knew it I had the same old junk that always appeared with Windows XP, such as a Yahoo toolbar for IE, that I never installed or gave permission to install! It won’t be long before you see the same commercial garbage polluting the system.

I have been a linux user for 4 years, and I must say that it is a whole different world. Software should be a tool not a hinderence. I kept having problems with Vista telling me the way I should use my software. Vista is heavily DRM infected…

Linux can do everything the majority of people need to do. The only weak areas are games, even though most windows games can be played via wine. With everything else its just a solid experience.

I had over 400 days of uptime on my computer once without rebooting…400 days!…try that with any flavor of windows.
