Free 411 Directory Assistance From AOL

aol411 Free 411 Directory Assistance From AOL1800Free411 has been serving us well until now, but when it comes to free services, the more competition, the merrier. Now AOL is offering a free 411 service as well. Dial 1-800-AOL-1234, press *, and presto, you got yourself free directory assistance. And they don’t even require that you are signed up for any of AOL’s other services. We approve. And can everyone stop bashing AOL please? All they seem to be doing lately is pushing out pretty cool free services, many of which are ways for us to stick it to the phone companies.

I like the whole free 411 and all. I just hate listening to the marketing. When I call, I am usually in need of the information quickly and to listen to ads is just so frustrating. My bill for 411 calls from my cell phone company came out to over 50 a month! A girlfriend of mine told me about a personal concierge service, Red Butler (http://www.RedButler.com). They’re another great option and only 36 bucks a month. - Cindy

Calling 411 for directory assistance can be maddeningly expensive.Carriers charge more than $1 and sometimes as
much as $2 a call from a cellphone..new services 800-411-SAVE and 800-411-METRO offer directory assistance free of charge, though users have to listen to advertisements.
I tried it. Talked to a real person and even though she didn’t find what i was looking for, since i dont have enough information just the last name, she was very patient and exhausted all possible means to help me.Good service indeed. Guess i should have had the first name or the address. No regrets. It’s free afterall.
