While we’re very fond of LogMeIn’s remote PC service, their free account leaves much to offer. As usual, Open Source software has a very powerful yet totally free piece of software that is ready to take care of all your remote PC needs. Using an internet connection, UltraVNC allows you to use your mouse and keyboard to control another PC as if you were sitting in front of it, even if you’re on the other side of the planet. Some of its other features include TextChat, FileTransfer, EncryptionPlugins and an embedded Java Viewer that allows you to open an UltraVNC in a web browser.
