Everything from building a “TV” computer to streaming to an XBOX – I’ve tried it all. And along the way I’ve tried many of the other so-called “Media boxes” and have always been disappointed, until now. Anything I put together in the past was Ok for me to struggle through, but I’d never recommend or turn loose any of these other methods on someone who wasn’t tech savvy. I’ve also never felt strongly enough about any product to write a review before either. Not only does this box make it easy for me, I’ve felt comfortable enough to purchase one for my tech challenged parents and they’ve loved it. This went so smoothly with them that I even had the audacity to get one for my 86 year old grandparents – and they’ve been able to operate it with ease. They’ve enjoyed watching all the old time movies I’ve re-encoded from their VHS library! I’d recommend this product to anyone. I'm highly recommending this unit to anybody looking for a multimedia player. The company is true to its word and consistently launches new firmware updates - which adds new functionality to the player. They have launched 6 updates in last 4 months ! - its insane. They are almost redefining the way companies work in the Consumer Electronics market. The MX760 is a breath of fresh air; throw a big hard drive (I have a 750GB) into the unit (takes about 5 minutes to set up), unit is easy to open and hookup is a breeze. Format the drive, then drag and drop media onto the drive via USB 2.0. You can use any directory structure you want. Then hook up the unit to a TV via DVI/Component or S-video connection. You set up your unit to the correct output, which can be done by the extremely handy display on the front of the unit. Then assuming you set it up correctly the menu will appear on your TV. The remote is extremely responsive (it's a modified DVD remote and acts just a quickly as it would with a DVD player). One of the good purchases I've made in a while !!
