CoverUp Secures Your Work When You Step Away from the Computer

coverup CoverUp Secures Your Work When You Step Away from the ComputerPerhaps you have a bunch of little rascals running around the house, or just an annoying roommate that you don’t want using your computer when you step away from it. CoverUp is a software program that locks and covers specific applications so that other people cant use them while your away. Just hit a key combination before you leave the computer and the currently active window will be covered by a screensaver. Upon returning to your computer, hit that key combo again, enter your password and you’ll be up and running again and being satisfied that nothing got messed up while you stepped away. This functionality is already available in Windows without paying any money or using additional software. It will lock your entire desktop, but that’s better than just one app.

Just add a password to your account in the Control Panel, and as you leave your desk, press Windows Key + L to instantly lock your computer.

Unless the person attacking your machine has your password they will not be allowed access, and it’s more secure than any other method for locking your machine.
