Don’t go traveling with out this device. Until they create a real universal translator system like they do on Star Trek (ever wonder how all the aliens can communicate with each other even if they’ve only met for the first time). ECTACO’s iTRAVL NTL-9C is a talking 2-way multilingual language Communicator and an electronic dictionary. The handheld device can translate words and phrases from to Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian Spanish and back. All you have to do is speak and the NTLC-9C will instantly spit back the translation. Running on Windows CE, The device also features a Travel Guide, a CIA World Factbook, travel audio books and an MP3 player. ECTACO’s iTRAVL NTL-9C retails for $499 and comes with a 1GB SD card to get you started. That price isn’t so outrageous, if it will work as advertised. The question is are you brave enough to talk to strangers by whipping out this thing? Not the greatest first impression.

Burglars Crack Open Safes With Help from Google

They say that you can find just about anything on Google, and they’re right. Two Burglars trying to break in to safes at the Colorado Springs Amusement Center, became a little stumped. Frustrated after having unsuccessfully tried several pass codes and combinations, they turned to Google for help. Luckily for them, Google managed to come up with the search results they needed and they succeeded. The “How to open a safe” and “how to crack a safe” queries got them the info they needed to open the safes. Truphone Offers Free Calling From Your Mobile Phone to 40 countries Worldwide

Nokia’s Series 60 based smartphones aren’t nearly as popular in the USA as they are in Europe, which is a shame because there is so much great free and powerful software available for them. One example of that kind of software is Truphone, a VoIP application that allows you to make phone calls. Currently Truphone is running a promotion that if you sign up for their service before September 30th, you’ll be eligible to make free phone calls to landlines in 40 countries for the rest of the year. Users who sign up in the UK or US will get their own UK or US phone number, respectively. Truphone also recently announced some new features which includes free text messaging to other Truphone users, and Truphone inTones which lets you choose the ring that your callers hear - this is the kind of feature that only wireless providers have been able to provide until now.
