Dane Elecs Dog Tag Flash DriveOver the years we’ve seen USB keys in many shapes and sizes, yet a flash drive in the form of a Dog Tag has alluded us until now. Dane-Elec has a silver and pink dog tag that doubles as a 1GB USB key. A chain is included, and chances are you can’t engrave your BFF’s name on it, but for $14.99, the Dog Tag Flash Drive makes a practical back to school accessory.

I have just acquired this, but mine is silver with black. Any manly man would approve. Pink dogtag? doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of the design? blecchh… no thanks!

my only gripe is that they don’t state anywhere on the package if it’s USB 2.0 or the previous (read: slower) standard. their website is no further help, even though their other similar products support 2.0

speed or not, a 5 yr warranty is nice! I’ve had several of these before in smaller sizes and if they stopped working (even though I keep a backup on my desktop), I’d be upset.

I have the silver version as well. Even though it looks great, I have a few complaints. The cap of mine does not stay on well at all and without it, it hardly looks like a dog tag. It actually came apart into two pieces today but I was able to push it back together. The width of it has prevented me from using some usb plugs. Especially the front angle plugs that are behind the door on dell computers.
