For computer geeks, it’s hard to believe that this new stained-glass window in Germany’s Cologne Cathedral is new at all. The artist Gerhard Richter based the window on his own 1974 painting 4096 Colors, which happens to be the same amount of “web-smart” colors that web designers take in to account. In the end, the window has been made of 11,500 four-inch “pixels” cut from original antique glass in a total of 72 colors. So the result is one very pixelated cathedral window. We expect to see Mario and Zelda attending services here. (Source: Wired Magazine)
