Whether you’re aware of it or not, everytime you use a regular a search engine like Google or Yahoo, your search term, the time of your visit, the links you choose, and your IP address are all recorded. Mostly this is used for marketing purposes but hackers and government officials may have other interests for that kind of data and often try to get a hold of it. Does anyone remember the AOL search engine scandal from not too long ago? Not that we’re trying to freak you out or anything… but if your privacy is a priority to you, than it’s probaly a good idea to consider making Ixquick your search engine of choice for private searches. Ixquick claims to be the only search engine that deletes your personal data and they do their best to always uphold their users privacy.
