Orgoo, still in beta, is one of the best Web 2.0 services I’ve ever had the privilege of using. The service aggregates all of your email accounts – AOL, Yahoo (plus), Gmail, Pop , Imap, .Mac and MSN & Hotmail accounts are all supported and most are automatically configured and overall it’s easy to set up. Via Orgoo’s web site you can send and receive email from each of your accounts so that you don’t have to log in and out of several accounts each time you want to check your mail. I know that every morning i find myself checking two AOL accounts, a gmail account and a Microsoft Exchange account. Yet when I’m out with my phone, my iPhone pushes all of those accounts to me – so I’ve been waiting and waiting for a web-based service to show up that could do the same sort of thing.
Orgoo also lets you log in to most popular IM accounts, the way Meebo does. Your buddy list gets juxtaposed next to your mail box window on the left side of the browser. The IM features works well, and like setting up your email accounts, the process is very simple. One gripe I have with it however is that my privacy preferences don’t seem to carry over from my regular accounts. For example, in one of my AIM accounts I am currently blocking everyone but co-workers while I work. When I log in to that account via Orgoo, everyone is unblocked. Hopefully that sort of thing will be remedied with future updates to Orgoo, and overall it’s really not too much of a big deal.
Some features I’d like to see from Orgoo in the future is the ability to have access to the folders you already have in your email accounts. For example, in my AOL account I have several folders set up with archived emails that I wish I could access through Orgoo. I’d also like to be able to customize the look and theme of my Orgoo but that feature is definately on its way. Overall, Orgo is definately going to change the way I check my email every morning. So go ahead and try to score an invite for yourself, while it’s still in beta.
