This morning we got a Fed Ex priority package delivered to Chip Chick. As I opened the package, I eyed the company’s name that sent it to us and couldn’t recall who it was. Inside there is a letter from the CEO of “Highlet” that doesn’t make any sense, a photo of the CEO, and last but not least – a 5 inch floppy disk with a “presentation of Highlet Profile, Philosophy, Management”. Is this a scam? How did they get my name? Maybe this is some sort of sick joke? Or is this a viral marketing campaign ploy? Either way I’m in total disbelief that someone just sent me a press release on a floppy disk! All I can make sense from the information on their web site is that they are a company that makes eyelets for footwear and that they are very in to technology circa 1982. The site is a mixture of being both amusing and creepy. I feel like I’m in a Lost episode. Anyway, if I disappear, you know where to look.
