Funambol Lets You Wirelessly Sync & Back up the Contacts on Your iPhone

funambol Funambol Lets You Wirelessly Sync & Back up the Contacts on Your iPhoneFor iPhone users who were previously accustomed to using a Microsoft Exchange server, one of the things missed most is the ability to wirelessly sync and back up your contacts and calendar to an exchange server. Finally, a solution is available that will let you wirelessly sync your contacts at least. Funambol, a free open source application lets you wirelessly sync and back up your contacts to the your account on the my Funambol web site. Calendar sync, tasks and notes sync should be on the way as well. In order to get myFunambol set up you have 2 methods to choose from; either you need to jailbreak your iPhone and install the myFUNAMBOL app, or you can head over to their web app via the Safari browser on your iPhone. We tested it using the native app and it worked like a charm. We look forward to future syncing features, as well as the possibility of push email. At that point, we can just marry our iPhones. funambol1 Funambol Lets You Wirelessly Sync & Back up the Contacts on Your iPhone
