The miniXpress firewire hard disk drive is an ultraportable hard drive that will satisfy those of you who need real power on the go. The drive is available in capacities of up to 200GB, but that isn’t what makes it extraordinary. Inside you can configure it with a 7,200rpm drive with a 16mb cache buffer, and an Oxford 934 chip – which means you are assured speed and stability. On top of that, it comes with every connection choice you could want – firewire 800 and 400, eSata and USB 2.0 all in a 5 ounce package. Unfortunately the miniXpress isn’t cheap, with the highend model retailing for $319, but that is actually a reasonable price for what you get. And apparently other people must think so too, because most of the drives are backordered.
