gyo_1up_mushroom Grow Your Own 1up Mushrooms at HomeIn the world of Super Mario Bros., is there anything more exciting then finding a 1up mushroom? Not even a Star can compare. Now you can grow your own 1up mushrooms at home. Add potting soil to the included green pot, push the spores deep inside, and then leave it sitting for a few weeks in a dark place. Three weeks later you will discover that 1up mushroom has magically grown out of the pot. If only Mario knew about this secret years ago, he would’ve eliminated so many problems. The 1up Mushroom retails for $9.99.

You’ve been fooled by one of ThinkGeek’s old April Fool’s joke products.

I could have sworn this ended up being a hoax when I first saw it a year or so ago. Maybe I’m thinking of something else. Or someone built a real product based on the hoax since it was an extremely popular idea.

We thought the same that it was a hoax but it was actually featured in their retail catalog that I received several days ago as well as on their website.

Got something to say?
