I recently got this unit and have been experimenting with it. The "English" manual is so poorly written because of typical Chinese to English grammatical errors (i.e. Chinengspeak), it makes more sense to pitch the manual. It won't help much.

With my experience with it so far, I'll try to explain what I know about it:

First of all, to power up the unit, you need to press and hold down the power button at 3 seconds or longer so it boots up. There is a tiny blue LED power indicator to the left of that power button. When it stays on after releasing the power button after holding it down, it means it is now booted and the display should come on.

The display now has the main menu appearing. Slide the display up by pushing it up from the bottom so you will be able to access the control buttons. Use the > or < buttons that are located on the left side group of 4 buttons to scroll through the menu choices. When you decide what choice you want to make, click the topmost OK button located on the right group of 4 buttons. For instance, say you want to choose the video player, scroll using the left/right () arrow buttons until video player shows up on the display, now press the OK button on the right group of 4 buttons. You should now see the Video Player folder that lists your video files (if any, at this point) that you may have saved to the memory. To escape and go back to the main menu, press the ESC button located at the top left of the player.

Now, to save files from your computer to the player. You should have already first installed the "driver" CD on your computer that came with the player. The little mini CD also has a video encoding program you can use to create the MP4 or 3gp video files the player will be able to play. If you don't have any other decent video encoder (Hint: like SuperC) that creates mp4 or 3gp files, then, at least, this one will suffice.

Before plugging the player into your computer through a USB cord, you have to make sure the player is FIRST powered up and the Main menu is displayed, otherwise, the player doesn't get recognized by the computer and you won't be able to access the player's memory(ies).
(i.e. the player's internal and/or the SD card memory)

When you are successfully able to access the player's memories from your computer, you will notice the player creates 5 folders in both the SD and internal memories, they are:

AUDIO
EBOOK
GAME
PICTURES
VIDEO

These are the folders your files from your computer should be transferred to.

For instance:
AUDIO only your mp3s, wav, and recorded audio files should be in this folder.
Likewise, the appropriate files with the rest of the various folder categories.
