This past week we were invited to see some of the current and future EA titles in person. We are only going to make mention of the titles that especially caught our eye from a girl gamer perspective. We apologize in advance for those hoping we would be dishing on Warhammer, no such luck. But the good news is that there are plenty of exciting new games to talk about that are coming out soon, as well as a few that are already available.
Spore:
Of course the game everyone is waiting for with baited breath. We could barely get close enough to see it in action but from the few glimpses we did get, it looks like the next blockbuster for Will Wright and company. For those who don’t know, Spore will allow to you to create life from a single cell and then from there you will make like Adam and Eve which will explode into different tribes, civilizations, and create an entire world with whatever freakish Spore you created.
“Key Features
• Sandbox Gameplay: Create our own personal universe where you can evolve life, establish tribes, build civilizations and even sculpt entire worlds.
• Evolutionary Gameplay: Lead your species through stages of evolution from pond-scum to galactic god in Spore’s campaign mode.
• World Creators: Easy-to-use editors allow you to make everything from creatures and buildings to vehicles and spaceships.
• Shared Content: Spore automatically shares your creations with other players through the Internet. And in your game, you’ll explore and interact with a galaxy of content created by other players.”
Basically if you thought you had no life before with Sims 2 you might as well just give up your job now! Spore is slated to suck away your life in early September and will be available for PC , Mac (yay!) and on EA Mobile compatible phones.
Ninja Reflex:

Do you have what it takes to be a Ninja? Well Ninja reflex is going to teach you how to become one. Created only for the Wii and Nintendo DS, this game will take full advantage of the Wii remote or DS stylus.
• Shuriken: Practice defending the courtyard from attackers on all sides with throwing stars
• Hotaru: Test your quickness against the flash of a firefly
• Hashi: Catch menacing flies with chopsticks
• Koi: Hunt koi with you bare hands
• Nunchaku: Crush incoming aerial assaults with your nunchucks
• Katana: Strike down demons with your samurai sword in a bamboo forest
As you become more skilled you can earn a black belt and more secrets with the ability to battle up to 4 players. So come March everyone will be Kung Fu Fighting – Hi-Ya!
SimCity Societies:

The new SimCity Societies allows you to create and develop your own city with a breathtaking amount of detail. You can create everything from a Vegas – like money hungry town, to a heavily industrial society. But beyond designing and developing your community, you get to control its future by acting as a benevolent ruler or a horrible dictator. Oh, and the possibilities for being a dictator can be pretty cruel and very unusual. Feel like destroying your town? Set a UFO attack and watch residents pile out of their homes running and screaming while they push their belongings in shopping carts. We’re not sure whether to laugh or cry about that one.
The game has also been designed to appeal to all different types of gamers. More experienced players can play at a higher level by being more challenged at by the tough riggers of running a city, For other players just looking to develop their own personalized society, they can play at an easier level where they can spend time enjoying their creation, and not so much worrying about maintaining it against the harsh realities of the cruel world, or rather the harsh realities of the virtual world.
So you think you know everything there is to know about sports, huh? Well I bet you don’t know who was the Beckham of Rugby in Russia…I bet the guy/gal you are playing with IN Georgia knows….confused? I thought so. Gameshow is the first of its kind to let you go head to head with players around the country on a GameShow streamed over the internet in real time. There will be a live host who will throw questions that are video, text, and audio. The avatars are customizable and there will be raffles given away so you must stay up to date with everything sports related. Even if you don’t care who won the ostrid race in Swahili. So head over to eagameshow.com to check it out.
Sims 2 Free Time:

Oh the Sims how we love ye….well now we can lose a little bit more of ourselves in them by adding this latest expansion pack to the ever expanding game. Free Time is basically what it says in its name. More features, talents, and skills that add to the enjoyment of being a Sim. No longer is going to the bathroom and sleeping the best way to take care of your Sim. Now you can teach it to make pottery, play a violin, cook, sew, dance, or restore a car. If you get really good at any of these or other tasks you will glow because of how talented you are and it will unlock other parts of the neighborhoods in the game. So get ready to glow on Feb 26th when it’s released.
Burnout Paradise:

Most racing games all stick to the same type of gameplay – the goal is to get to the finish line first and not get your car too damaged along the way. But sometimes you just want to smash things and not always worry about being last place in a race. Well Burnout Paradise satisfies for the need for speed, without worrying about finishing first place. Smash, bang, run over people, you’ll earn points and your car will look completely mangled but as long as you keep hitting the boost button, even if there is nothing left you can still smash plenty of cars and cause damage and rack up points. You can play on-line with friends and if they or you have a webcam attached to your PS3 or X-box 360,the webcam will snap a pic of of your face to show the other player how psyched you were to smash their car up. The graphics are awesome and the game was easy to play, another nice change of pace from most racing games which are not easy for casual or beginner gamers. Certainly the perfect pick me up from a stressful work day. Burnout Paradise is available now.
So there you have it the few games that caught our attention and our wallets when the time comes. One things for certain, EA makes addictive games and it’s just shame we can’t buy them on love….
