antiteen Ultrasonic Anti Teen Device Causes Uproar in EnglandThere is no question that teenagers tend to be a rowdy bunch. But that doesn’t mean we don’t want them around? In the U.K. there have been some plans to implement an anti-teen device. The device sends out uncomfortable soundwaves that only affect people under 25 years old. This tone can be heard from a distance of 15 to 20 meters and exposure to the sound becomes annoying after 5 to 10 minutes. The device, known as the Mosquito, is already being used all over England, especially at shopping centers. Which means that they’ll probably never film a Mall Rats sequel there. All of this is starting to raise an uproar from the children’s commission for England and groups like civil liberties group Liberty. Their campaign is aptly named “Buzz Off”. For starters this device effects everyone under 25, including babies. Then there is the fact that it discriminates against all kids, whether they’re “anti-social” or not. Personally, we’re on the kids side. We say they should go out and set up anti-adult devices everywhere a Mosquito device has been set up. (Source: BBC)
