One of the downsides of having a laptop is having to lug it around with you. Even if your laptop is only 5lbs, after awhile it begins to feel like it’s 50lbs and seemingly every part of your body starts to hurt. Not fun. Kensington, well known for computer accessories and peripherals, has launched a new line of Contour Balance notebook bags just for women. These bags both stylish and comfortable, so comfortable in fact, that they are endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association for maximizing comfort while minimizing muscle strain. Available with or without roller wheels, and also as a backpack, they retail from $69.99 to $119.99. True, a bit on the spendy side; but for the sturdy nature of the materials, I think it’s money well worth spending.
Specifications for the Contour Balance Notebook case:
Weight: 2.85lbs
Dimensions: 18” L x 4” W x 12” H.
Fits laptops up to 15.4″
This versatile bag has a neutral dark chocolate brown color [also available in black] with the cutest circular pattern, not too girly, but feminine all the same. The Air-Flo Contour panel mitigates the heat and brings the bag closer to your body thus reducing shoulder and back fatigue up to 35%. The handles stay together with a strong magnetic clasp. I had a hard time even taking the photo because the magnets kept closing together. I don’t like using the handles, so thankfully it comes with a detachable padded shoulder strap. When not in use, you can tuck it away in one of the multitude of pockets. I can’t attribute it to the Air-Flo, but after a day of carrying this bag around, I didn’t encounter any issues; the curved strap works well without digging into my shoulders.
Let me tell you, one of the best feature of this bag are the pockets. It just makes everything so organized. Love it! There are two on the side for your cellphone, water bottle, iPod, whatever. In the front there is an easy access slim pocket, perfect for airline tickets and/or a magazines or two. There are three main compartments. The middle being where you put your laptop. It’s padded with a super thick quilted material. The AirBrake reinforced bottom cushion has metal feet and is impact resistant to boot. Your laptop will be safe and sound, that’s for sure. One of the other compartments has an inner zipper pocket, while the other compartment has two sides of even more glorious pockets for your pens, keys, etc.You will never have to dig around looking for something at the bottom of your bag.
Conclusion:
The Good: Looks professional yet feminine. Ergonomic to lessen strain. Has lots of pockets. Water-resistant. Comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
The Bad: The handles are a bit stiff.
