AUDIOSURF is the Poor Man’s Guitar Hero
We seem to all be consumed with rhythm games these days whether it be Guitar Hero or Rock Band. But instead of shelling out $60 or more on these games, there is the poor man’s option. AUDIOSURF for the PC is a puzzle racer game where you can use your own music to create your own rocking game. You earn points by lining blocks up of the same color and the speed of the game is determined by the type of music you choose. You will need to download Steam in order to use the game and it supports: MP3, WMA, CDs, and even iTunes. There are 14 available characters to choose from and you can play against someone else on the PC or via the internet. All this for $9.95 isn’t bad and you will save the money downloading music packs from X-Box Live. Check it out in action here.

i think “the poor man’s guitar hero” does this game great injustice, because this game is better than guitar hero. every now and then, price of a game isn’t even close to being in proportion of the quality of the content.

Well, firstly, calling this “Poor mans guitar hero” is just rude. This game has almost NO connection to Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero is a game that you use your little plastic controller to gain a +1 ego boost, (I like the game don’t get me wrong) and secondly, Audiosurf is probably one of the most unique music games going. You should look into it a bit more…
