The Helius Solar backpack isn’t the first solar backpack we’ve come across but our green eyes welcome it in to the fold. V-Dimension’s Helius comes with ipod/iphone, mini-usb (for Blackberry/Motorola Razr V3), Samsung, LG, Nokia, and Motorola adapters so that you’re sure not to run out of juice even if you are in the middle of the desert. What’s the city of Tokyo doing packed inside a sneaker? Onitsuka Tiger, a major Japanese footwear brand hired the designers at Freedom of Creation to create a miniature city inside an illuminated show. The result is a meter long sneaker complete with an airport, billboards and Japanese cultural icons called the “Electric Light Shoe“. The shoe will be touring Onitsuko Tiger stores through out the year and they have even produced a USB key sized light-up version of the sneaker in case you wish you could take it home yourself.

Otterbox iPod cases are kind of like the Toughbook of ipod Cases, their rugged and meant to withstand the elements as well as bumps and drops. But tough and pink can go together, right? They have two upcoming limited edition cases that will be available in pink. OtterBox will donate 10% of the purchase price to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade to support access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer. The cases are designed to fit the iPhone and the 3G Nano and will retail for $49.95 and $29.95 respectively.

Do you really like iTunes, but you don’t have an ipod? iTunes Sync is a free software app for Windows that lets you sync your non Apple made MP3 player with iTunes. The software works with many popular MP3 players as well as many popular cell phones like the RAZR, and the Nokia N95 just to name a few. However it is not compatible with the Zune – why are we not surprised. iTunes Sync is not compatible for Mac but there is a similar program called SyncTunes available for free for Mac users as well.

We’ve seen many Hello Kitty phones over the years, some ugly, some decent and some just way too expensive. If you got yourself one of them then you might want to get this Hello Kitty Solar power charger to use with it. The device can also work to charge your MP3 player, camera or PDA (not that anyone uses those things anymore) via a USB port. No sunshine around? Unfortunately, the Hello Kitty Solar Power Charger costs a whopping $159.99, yeh, what did you expect from a Sanrio licensed product.

We are so not vouching for the quality of this super cheap HD camcorder, after all it does look a lot like a cheap ipod ripoff. But To its credit, the DXG-567VP comes in a choice of pink blue, red or black. The camcorder features 2x digital zoom, a 2″ LCD display with a 480 x 240 resolution, a 5 megapixel CMOS sensor with the ability to capture movies in a format as big as 1280 x 720 – in a widescreen or standard aspect ratio. We like that it has got a pop-out USB connector and it promises to come with software that will make it easy to upload to YouTube. The device is flash-based and expandable via a SD slot, though it does have 32MB built-in, which is quite pathetic even for a cheap camcorder. Think of this one as a slight step-up from the a Flip video camcorder.

We reviewed the Shared Storage II networked hard drive a while back and now Maxtor has just released new firmware and software for the device. The new Central Axis software allows you to access and share files on your Shared Storage II hard drive over the internet. We got to see a preview of the software back at CES 2008. The software is still in beta but it’s a must have to unleash all the potential of your Shared Storage II, if you have one. And it’s thankfully available for both PC and Mac.
