The Olympic games will be starting this friday in Bejing and now more than ever a closer look is being given to the Asian cuisine there, which at many times can be very odd or certainly not typical for an American palate. That is why I’m not sure if this is ingenious or sickening, the Modern Toilet Restaurant is a chain restaurant in Asia that provides a bit of unusual fare. The restaurant consists of a menu that has typical oriental cuisine served in miniature toilet bowls, sinks, or tubs.The restaurant itself looks like a public bathroom, chairs and tables are replaced with toilet bowls and tubs with a glass table over them.The various locations are very colorful and almost whimsical, like you are in some bizzaro toilet bowl fantasyland.
I’m pretty sure the creators of the toilet bowl must be rolling in their grave at the sight of their precious gadget being used as bowl for eating out of. Now we can all feel what its like for to be our dogs and as odd as it might be, I think this would probably be a hit in NYC.
