Last week we were drooling over the Vivienne Tam Digital Clutch Notebook that we just couldn’t wait to get our hands on! Well we didn’t have to wait too long. We had our chance to get up close and slightly personal with it last night. The pictures don’t do it justice and it really is even more beautiful in person. The peony design is striking but Vivienne is still putting the final touches on the keyboard, that we were not allowed to see. Its anticipated release will coincide with the Chinese New Year in January ‘09 and it will be affordable according to HP. We can’t wait!

I’m so glad to finally see that a company has taken an intiative to actually design some women friendly and security friendly laptop sleeves. I say BRAVO! it’s about time. Why should all laptop cases, bags, and sleeves look like big black ugly things with no style at all even if its security checkpoint friendly. These neoprene sleeves are not only nice, but they can also be turned inside out to form a different design. Its always nice to see unlikely companies join together to make something unique. Vestalife which is famous for the ladybug iPod dock has joined forces with Element Skateboards to make Limited Edition Ladybugs. For those not familiar with the Vestalife Ladybug, it was launched last  year to much fan fair and has a built in subwoofer and soft-touch finishes. The most unique aspect is when the speakers open up to reveal the dock it gives the effect of wings spreading and when closed it resembles a ladybug. There will be two versions available one in Blue the other Black. The Limited Edition Blue Ladybug has a paisely design and the Limited Edition Black one has a skull and cross bones. Element Skateboards is famous for their edgy designs that are marketed to the skateboard community and they certainly illustrated some serious talent in designing these limited edition ladybugs. Facebook isn’t good enough for them, so the gov’t has gone ahead and created their own exclusive social network called A-Space. A-Space will be launching on the classified Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System on September 22. “A-Space analysts will have access to all information at the highest classification level that is accessible through the collaboration environment. They will be able to access data from six data sources from different agencies, including the National Security Agency, State Department and Defense Intelligence Agency. Officials expect to add more datasets by January” Agents will be able to create personal profiles, share widgets, RSS feeds, and just like Facebook post comments on other people’s profiles.  The eye in the sky just keeps getting bigger and bigger…..

We here at Chip Chick are big fans of U.B. Funkeys so when we stumbled on these items while browsing Target on-line we were surprised to find U.B. Funkeys looking a bit different than we are used to. Exclusively at Target, the Emerson Funkeys USB Flash Drive looks like the original Funkey from the 1st series that was released a year ago, but in this version its head can be removed to reveal a flash drive with USB connector. Sadly there are no details on how much capacity this thing holds. However it will retail for $19.99. Another U.B. Funkey similar device that caught our eye was the Emerson Funkeys Computer Speakers. This too replicates a U.B. funkey from the 1st series release and retails for $19.99. As much as we love our Funkeys and would want them all over our home I smell a lawsuit…
