They do not offer very good technical support and some of the equipment does not work without additional software being emailed to you, which takes an act of congress to obtain. When there is a problem, they do not promptly return calls, have odd hours of operation and do not respond to emails. Also slingshot does not offer 3g in many communities and is worse than dial up when 3g is not available. When it is working at 3g speeds, I would call it merely OK, but not great. I have had slingshot for about 6 months. But for a traveling laptop, you may be better of with something else, like "Sling Shot". Towns where I have not had coverage so far are Boise, Salt Lake, Fort Worth, Anaheim, , Albuquerque, and a few other large cities. Now some of these cities listed I did have Cricket cell phone service, but no modem service. . I was told I would have modem coverage any where my cell phone worked when I purchased the two. BTW, after trying them all, the best cell phone coverage for someone traveling around the country is the pay as you go "Tracfone". Don't know why, it just is. There are no contracts involved and no large up front fees. They also have a service called RovAir On-Demand.
