APLUS.NET Junk Puts Liquid Web Down for the Count!

I simply registered a domain using their domain plus service because of the free URL and e-mail forwarding (Big mistake). After I registered I waited for my registration confirmation e-mail and yes I did receive it 1 hour later. After that I went in and tried to figure out how to setup my URL forwarding and their website was so poorly laid out it took me about 30 minutes to find the form. I filled it in and it said it would take up to 3 hours to process so I waited a day just to be safe. Well a day later, nothing. 2 days later, nothing. Then I decided to e-mail them, no repsonse after a week. I e-mailed them again, no response after a week. This continued for another 13 e-mails with no repsonse. Suddenly one day I get a reply from them, BUT it was to inform me that I couldn't take advantage of the free URL or E-mail forwarding because I did not register for it within 20 minutes of registering the domain! At that point I said forget it, I had already wasted $20 and decided to accept my losses and move on. I found a totally free URL and E-mail forwarding service called MyDomain.com and I reccomend them to everyone now, no banners or ads. YOu know whats really sad after all this? MyDomain.com, the company that wasn't making any money from me responded to my e-mails within 2 hours and were more helpful than the horrible support of Aplus.net. Avoid! Beware!

The worst host to use is infinitie.net. They will up your rate without ever telling you, they never answer their phone, and they dont repspond to support tickets online for days. Basically your on your own for support or anything, not worth the hassle.

I use to host my website at Liquidweb using a VPS. I found myself having to install caching plugin's to keep my site running fast. I ended up with a provider called Uptimehost (www.uptimehost.com). Their system enables my site to scale automatically because of their cloud computing infrastructure, which I thought was cool. Since then I have disabled my caching plugins and it works flawlessly.

Derek - I did research the providers that Wordpress recommends. I called up a few of them and asked how they would handle situations like the ones we experienced (where our site was down due to too much system resources). I dont remember what their answers were exactly, but I just remember not being satisfied with what they had to say.

I've been going through this whole nightmare this past week - being notified that my site uses too much "CPU resources" and that most likely a plugin is the culprit. Which plugin that can't or won't help me figure out.

They took my site offline for a short while, and after much screwing around I'm back up and running - and using less resources because of some deactivated plugins.

That's what i get for using the cheapest web hosting, right?

How come you never tried any webhost recommended by wordpress or any other blogging platform. For eg. http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and http://b2evolution.net/web-hosting/top-quality-best-webhosting.php

BlueHost seems to be recommended by both.
