Asus X83Vb-X1, the Gaming Laptop fit for a Recession

What first caught our attention on the Asus X83Vb-X1 was it’s odd half gold / half black keyboard finish – which we’re actually not that fond of. But what kept us interested was the amount of power it’s packing under the hood, for such a small price tag. The X83Vb-X1 comes with a Core 2 duo 2.0GHZ processor, a 14.1″ widescreen, a 250GB hard drive – and here is the whopper – 4GB of ram and a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS card. A 512MB video card in a laptop for under a grand? AND 4GB of Ram! That is a first for us. And it’s on sale for just $649 at Best Buy this week, where it’s a Best Buy exclusive. Check out CNET’s review of this lappie, which praised it’s excellent performance. This looks to be a great laptop for those needing to game on a budget.
