With the holiday season here, it is only a matter of time before you find yourself on an airplane heading somewhere. So wouldn’t it be nice to travel and actually make it to the gate on time, even with all the security delays. Clear is a plastic card with enough personal information on it to allow you to whiz by security check points at various airports and certain sports arenas. By filling out a form online or at one of the ‘Clear’ kiosks found around the country you can allow another company to know your private information all for the sake of saving time. When you present your Clear card you supposedly are greeted with a smile and then escorted to the security check point where you are treated like a celebrity and easily breeze on through. But all of this comes with a hefty price tag of $199 for one year of membership. Currently Clear is working on a technology to also include not having to take off your shoes. If they can figure that one out – then it might be worth the money after all.

I went through DC and JFK and this was not working as late as October at all. I see no excuse for a system like this. Either everyone should be made to precheck as it were or no one should.
