At CES, Lexar Crucial had a special contraption on display that shows off why solid state drives are so tough. They strapped one of their SSD drives in to a device that simulates a small earthquake with different levels on the Richter scale. The SSD drive is connected to a laptop which at the same time is playing video. Despite how much the SSD drive was rocked around in the device, the video kept playing on the laptop without a stutter. That definitely gets the point across about why SSD drives have so much hype surrounding them.
Also in time for CES, Lexar has released a selection of memory cards and sticks that will especially help benefit those who are recording in HD.
