Good morning! My mother would love to have a new Pantech Matrix Pro, and I’d like to tell you why in one word: Twitter! My mother is a neonatal intensive care nurse by trade, and while my brother and I rib her once in a while for her general technological ignorance (all in good fun, of course!), among her friends and co-workers, she is the most techno-savvy. As such, she constantly comes to me with questions about various new technologies and whether or not she should use them. I try to make it a point to teach my mother a new piece of technology every time I go home to visit (GPS, bluetooth, SMS, MMS, etc.). This past Easter visit, my mother asked me what the deal with Twitter was, and if it was something that she should be using. I explained it to her as simply as I could, knowing that it was probably just something that she had heard about from one of her co-workers.

Surprisingly enough, she heard about Twitter from a patient, well, a patient’s mother, who had set up a Twitter account to keep her family and friends up-to-date on her baby’s condition and status. After talking with the mother and then with my brother and I, she wanted to look at the possibility of offering that up NICU-wide, or at least recommending it to concerned parents as an option to keep those who care updated on their loved ones.

A new Pantech Matrix Pro would help my mother keep her nickname, “Techno-Momma”, and increase her “street cred” as the most techno-savvy nurse in the unit!
