We got to take a look at Samsung’s new DAPs which include the P3 that was announced at CES. The P3 is the successor to the pretty successful P2. The P3 features a 3″ widescreen touch display with haptic feedback, stereo Bluetooth, DNSe™ 3.0 sound enhancement technology , and FM radio. The P3’s body is made of a reinforced die-cast metal casing which is supposed to help withstand fingerprints and scratching. In person the P3 looked pretty slick and the body felt strong and well made with a bright and colorful screen to complement. The P3 will be available in May with the following pricing: 8GB: $149.99 / 16 GB: $199.99 / 32 GB: $299.99.
Samsung’s other new DAP is the Q2, which is obviously their Nano competitor, with a Nano busting price. The 8GB version retails for $99 and the 16GB will be just $129 when it goes on sale in April. The Q2 weighs just 2.04 ounces and boasts a 50 hour battery life, DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology , an FM radio, and a 2.4″ QVGA TFT Screen. It will be available in the colors black and white.
On the really affordable end of the spectrum, there is the 2GB U5 which sports a 1″ Gray OLED display. Weighing just 0.81 ounces with a direct USB connection, the U5 is available in pink, black, white, red or blue and features DNSe™ 2.0 audio technology, and an FM tuner for just $39.99. It will be available in April.
