There are plenty of iPod compatible car kits, but you’ll be hard pressed to find a way to play music files off a USB key on your car stereo. That is where the new GROM-USB MP3 kit comes in. The kit provides a direct audio interface to a car stereo via the CD Changer port, and it even tricks the car stereo in to thinking that it has a fully featured CD changer plugged in to it. With the device, you’ll be able to play MP3, WMA, and iTunes files, and you’ll also be able to browse through tracks by playlists – and the kit also lets you set a shuffle mode going. Meanwhile, you’ll still be able to use your regular CD changer since the device doesn’t interfare with it. The GROM-USB MP3 kit retails for $124.99 and is available for most popular car models.
