After years of settling for the same boring pair of black headphones, and occasionally a pair that would come in different colors – the world of headphones is starting to get more and more personalizeable. These latest sets of hip headphones comes straight from the streets of Harajuku, Japan. These white Mix-Style over the ear headphones also happen to be pretty affordable at $59.99. But you’ll totally dig them because they come in a selection of colorful styles – including several different colored stars, the Jamaican flag, or a skull. However, if these aren’t quite customizable enough for you, we recommend checking out iFrog.

Mix-Style headphones land from the streets of Harajuku…
Harajuku is one of the funkiest cities of Japan known for the best punk culture. So I’d pretty much don anything that the gods and goddesses of the city dole out. Here’s a set of White, Mix-Style headphones from……

No offense Gizmodiva or whatever your name is, but Harajuku is one of the fashion DISTRICTS in the CITY of TOKYO, the other being Shibuya. Furthermore, if you would have taken the time to look beyond the obvious “punk-like” trends, you would have discovered an immense kaleidoscope of styles within the district. I grow wary of people consistently labeling Harajuku as being “punk” or “Goth”. Harajuku has its own identity by inadvertently creating a platform for Japan’s custom fashion movement, very similar, though far more lively than Paris had seen in the mid 70s.
Inevitably, this has caused for the electronics industry in Japan to follow up on this ever expanding market by designing their gadgets accordingly.
There are over 17 million people in Japan of which 83% are electronics consumers and a staggering 97% of the teenagers make up the largest consumer piece in the pie.
Harajuku is famed for its individualistic fasion sense and home modding of clothing, whereas Shibuya is known for the upper class, haute couture Brands (Versaci, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci etc.). Even so; many world class fashion designers send otu scouts and photographers to Harajuku to get inspiration for their work as they are miles behind their fashion trends. It may take years for a Harajuku trend to pop up in the west and by that time, countless of new trends have already emerged from the depths of the Harajuku teenager’s mind. it is safe to say that the harajuku fashion movement is by far the strongest and, unbeknown to most people, the most influential fashion movement mankind has ever seen.
