A cars altinator puts out far more energy than the car uses. The excess energy is normally lost. This product would just use some of the excess energy which would not increase the gas milage as Chip says.

Second what Chip *Woman* said. Plus, if you are driving on the highway, using the A/C can _improve_ your gas mileage, as having your windows up decreases drag. That being said, my husband overheats in the car even w/the A/C-going to look into this item.

Ummmm...since the fan is powered by the car's electrical system, it will increase gas usage as the alternator will have to work harder. Granted, the usage will be small, but there is no such thing as a free lunch thermodynamically.

Now, if the fan was solar powered, you could accurately write that there would be no additonal gas usage.
