dsc0064 300x250 Exclusive Look Inside iRobot and the INGENUITY Challenge I love robots and I love my iRobot Roomba ‘Ronnie.’ So I was as giddy as a girl geek when I was invited as well as several other female bloggers to come to Boston yesterday to tour the iRobot headquarters and participate in the “That’s INGENIOUS” luncheon. The experience allowed us to tour the facilities and the inner workings of iRobot as well as get a sneek peek at an upcoming challenge and contest our readers will be able to participate in. What impressed me the most was the passion each person had that I interacted with. Long time employees who loved their job as much as the robotic machines they created. Not only do the people behind iRobot have stories, but so do the machines. One touching story involved a military robot that was sadly ‘killed’ in the line of duty, but the soldier he worked along side with wanted him to be saved so badly because it was his friend. Of course there are the robots that help us with your chores around the home but when we let them become emotional attachments to us – you know that is something special.

Check out the gallery to see some of what I saw yesterday and stay tuned for an exciting contest that will bring out the inventor in all of us.
