thatsingenious 157x300 iRobot Presents THATs iNGENIOUS Challenge: Win $10,000 for Charity ContestAlmost a month ago we reported on our exclusive trip to the iRobot headquarters and teased about the iNGENIOUS Challenge but never really said much about it. Well the day has come and I can now let the cat out of the bag, which I hope will encourage all of you to whip out your thinking caps. So what exactly do you have to do?  Send us a great idea – big or small, creative, or even inspirational.  The goal is to think of an ingenious idea that is also practical in execution. Do you have an annoying problem that you deal with every day and you have a solution for it? Send it to us.

Are you on vacation and could really use some type of thingamajig to make your life easier while you are away from home, but it doesn’t exist yet? Send it to us.  The paperclip and twist tie were simple inventions that didn’t require much technology, but we certainly couldn’t live without them today.  Keep the ideas coming starting Today to September 1st, and the winner will receive 2 iRobot devices as well as a DonorsChoose.org gift card of $10,000 to donate to whichever school(s) you decide to support. So not only will you win two awesome prizes, you will also be able to do something amazing for schools and students in need.

So Chip Chick readers, we need you to flex your brain muscle. You can enter as many submissions as you like. The more the merrier as we are up against 9 other blogs in this contest.

Just one catch, please DO NOT SUBMIT ANY ROBOT IDEAS. Being this is iRobot, those submissions will be discarded.  Start submitting entries now and track them against our competition at the THAT’s iNGENIOUS micro-site. Good luck and maybe on September 1st we will be saying “I wish I thought of that.”

Car windshields should be polarized like eye glasses that change to shades under ultraviolet. The need to search around your car for sun glasses is eliminated. The windshield will be treated to convert to sun glass based on position of SUN itself. Many accidents are caused due to sun glare. Windshields can be completely converted when sun is low and visibility is at its worst.

Here is an ingenious idea! How about a small invention which when followed correctly ties your neck tie into not only a perfect knot, but any perfect knot you would like. From windsor to double to bow. It would be small and similar to the hair invention of the 90’s called the “Topsy Turvey”

Hydro Powered Toilet Brush… ok this is not a joke, here is the idea: A small round toilet brush that can spin. It will be attached to a small rotating base and rest on the lower part of the toilet bowl, right under the water level. When you flush, the spinning water will push the brush around the bottom of the bowl, ensuring no embarrassing streaks!
